Founded in 1951, the College of Basic Medical Sciences is an important teaching base for basic medical education and scientific research. The College has 2 first level discipline doctoral programs and 7 second-level discipline doctoral programs. The College boast numerous excellent professors and scholars with internationally advanced expertise and strong sense of responsibility, includingnationalteaching masters, " Scholars" Special Professors, Tang AoQing distinguished professors. In last 3 years, the College has undertaken more than 200 projects of science in national and provincial level and gained 5 scientific and technological awards at or above provincial level. In terms of teaching, its education covers undergraduate and post graduate programs in all related basic medical areas. Moreover, the Laboratory Teaching Centre of Basic Medicine was approved as National Experimental Teaching Demonstrating Center in 2012 by the Ministry of E and the Ministry of Finance.
In teaching, the college has undertaken all the basic medical teaching work forundergraduatestudents of all the medical related majors. Since 2005, a total of 430 international students were admitted to clinical MBBS.Through the high level teaching of the college, the passing rate of the MCI(Medical Council of India) and USMLE(United States Medical Licensing Examination) has increased significantly.The college has also trained graduate students and doctoral students, including international students.
Internationalization is an important target for the development of the College. The College has established academic exchange relationship with more than 20 universities in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, etc. A communication network has been established.
